PC Guides
Common fixes for performance, storage, malware, and Wi-Fi issues.
SSD vs HDD — What’s the difference and why it matters
If your PC feels slow, an SSD upgrade is often the biggest improvement. HDDs are older spinning drives; SSDs are much faster and more reliable for daily use.
- HDD: Slower, cheaper, moving parts, longer boot times
- SSD: Faster, better responsiveness, no moving parts, quicker updates
Best upgrade: Move Windows and programs to an SSD, keep HDD for extra storage (optional).
How much RAM do I need? (8GB vs 16GB vs 32GB)
- 8GB: Basic use (email, browsing). Can feel tight with lots of tabs.
- 16GB: Best value for most people. Great for gaming + multitasking.
- 32GB: Best for heavy workloads: editing, streaming, CAD, large projects.
If your PC slows down when multiple programs are open, RAM may be a bottleneck — but storage and malware can also cause slowdowns.
Wi-Fi problems (slow speeds, disconnects, dead zones)
Try these in order:
- Restart modem + router (unplug 30 seconds)
- Move closer to router (test if distance is the issue)
- Use 5GHz for speed (short range) / 2.4GHz for range
- Update router firmware (if available)
- Switch Wi-Fi channel (crowded neighborhoods cause interference)
- Test a wired ethernet connection to compare speeds
Tip: If your router is 5+ years old, an upgrade often improves speed and stability dramatically.
Popups & malware — safe steps before paying anyone
- Close suspicious tabs (do not click “Allow” or “Download”)
- Run Windows Security scan (Virus & threat protection)
- Remove unknown browser extensions
- Uninstall suspicious apps (Settings → Apps)
- Reset browser settings (Chrome/Edge)
If popups keep returning, the infection may be deeper — we can perform a full cleanup and security hardening.
PC running hot / overheating (fans loud, random shutdowns)
- Clean dust from vents and fans (compressed air)
- Ensure airflow: don’t block intake/exhaust vents
- Check CPU temps (Task Manager / monitoring tool)
- Replace thermal paste if system is older
- Consider better case airflow or upgraded cooler
Overheating can shorten component life — if temps remain high after cleaning, a deeper inspection is recommended.
PC Build Guides
Simple tips to help you plan a build and avoid common mistakes.
How to choose parts (CPU, GPU, RAM, Storage) based on your needs
- Gaming: prioritize GPU first, then CPU + 16GB RAM
- Work/Office: prioritize SSD + CPU, 16GB RAM recommended
- Editing/CAD: strong CPU + 32GB RAM, fast SSD storage
- Streaming: extra RAM + CPU headroom helps
The best builds are balanced — overspending in one area can leave performance on the table.
Air vs AIO vs Custom Water Cooling
- Air: reliable, lower cost, great for most users
- AIO: cleaner look, good temps, moderate cost
- Custom Loop: best temps & aesthetics, highest cost, requires maintenance
If you want maximum performance and a premium look, water cooling is great — but not always needed.
Common build mistakes (and how to avoid them)
- Buying incompatible parts (socket/RAM type)
- Underpowered PSU (power supply)
- Not planning airflow (hot GPU + poor case ventilation)
- Forgetting storage or Windows install needs
- Skipping stress testing after the build
Website Guides
Helpful basics for small business websites and getting more calls.
What makes a website convert (calls, messages, quote requests)
- Clear headline (what you do + who you help)
- Strong call-to-action (call, message, quote form)
- Trust signals (reviews, photos, service area)

- Simple navigation (don’t overwhelm visitors)
Local SEO basics (how to show up in Google locally)
- Set up Google Business Profile
- Use consistent Name/Address/Phone across web
- Get real reviews (Google + Facebook)
- Use service pages (PC Repair, Web Dev, Custom PCs)
